Frequently Asked Questions

Common Water Heater Service Questions We Hear

How Do I Know If I Need a New Water Heater?

Even the best water heater model experiences wear and tear, with modern water heaters built to last 15-20 years with proper ongoing maintenance. Eventually, your current model will give up on you. But how will you know?

There are several signs that can give you an idea that it’s time to upgrade to a new water heater.

If your water heater doesn’t give a steady supply of hot water after routine maintenance, you probably need a new one. If the water quality is poor, you need a new one. If your water heater quickly runs out of hot water, you definitely need a new one. Also, leaking around your water heater tank (after constant repair) is a sure sign that your water heater needs replacement.

How Do I Know If I Need a New Water Heater?

You may have seen YouTube videos on how to install a water heater yourself. These videos often make it seem as if a DIY installation is “easy-peasy.” On the contrary, if you don’t have the skills or tools to install a water heater, it’s best not to touch any water heater — especially the ones fueled by natural gas. If your new water heater requires hooking up gas lines, get in touch with our professionals instead.

Our water heater experts have a special certification that enables us to safely install your new water heater. With us, you don’t have to worry about gas leaks causing your family to be sick due to carbon monoxide poisoning. You need not worry about house fires also! Plus, improperly installed electric water heaters can cause leaks, which result in water damage and mold growth.

How Do I Know If I Need a New Water Heater?

While there is no perfect type of water heater, both tankless and traditional water heaters present a certain set of pros and cons — depending on your needs. Tankless water heaters are more expensive but are less prone to breakdowns. Traditional models, on the other hand, are more affordable and easier to repair compared to tankless models.

Your choice depends on what you need. It’s best to consult with an expert first before you shop for a water heater.

Water heaters are very useful but along the way, they will experience wear and tear, which eventually leads to malfunctions. Always do your research to make sure your water heater is always in good condition. If you have more questions about your water heater or need professional services, call our water heater repair company in Stockton today.

How Do I Know If I Need a New Water Heater?

Start with the energy source available in your home of building.

Most water heaters typically are powered by electricity or gas. Most people prefer to buy a new model that has the same fuel source as their current one so they don’t have to establish access to an electrical outlet or a gas line.

Secondly, consider the capacity of the water heater. How much hot water do you need at one time? Most residential water heater tanks hold between 30 and 80 gallons.

If you’re living alone, water heaters with smaller capacities are perfect for you. But if you have a big family or a deep big tub that needs plenty of water, get a larger capacity model. You can also choose a tankless water heater so that you can heat water on demand.
